Alabama’s agricultural landscape sets a robust foundation for both farming excellence and food production facilities. Each year, the state readies its expansive agricultural terrain, covering about 8.3+ million acres across nearly 39,000+ farms, to yield a rich variety of crops and products. This bounty includes leading outputs in freshwater fish, poultry, peanuts, and pecans, alongside a top 10 national ranking in cotton production. With annual cash receipts approximating in the billions of dollars each year, predominantly from broilers and chicken eggs, Alabama serves a pivotal role in both farming and as a hub for food processing and production.

That’s why we’re gathering names to sign a petition requesting that Sunday, October 12, 2025 be declared Farmers’ Day in Alabama.
We’re grateful for our farmers and the food they produce everyday, but we’d like to celebrate their hard work and importance to our well being with their own day of recognition that corresponds to National Farmer’s Day.
We’ll collect signatures until the end of August and then present them to the Governor with our official request.
Please consider using this form to sign our petition, and always remember to Thank a Farmer.
